The Isle of Skye, a large island lying off the north-west coast of the highlands of Scotland has acquired a romantic, almost mystical aura, and is well known through songs and poems. Its landscape is also spectacular; the Cuillin mountains, built from sharp-edged gabbro rock, offer some of the most technically difficult climbing anywhere in Europe.
As the landscape photographs in this gallery build it will form a tour, starting at Sleat, travelling in anti-clockwise direction round the island, with forays into the interior at appropriate points. The tour will conclude with views of Skye as seen from vantage points off the island.
