Scotland's Loch Torridon, about 17 kilometres long, is interrupted halfway by Loch Shieldaig, then restarts again before opening out to the Inner Sound between the mainland and the Island of Raasay. Surrounded by a massive wall of mountains, it typifies the wild landscape of the Scottish West Highlands and offers superb vistas for landscape photography. There is excellent climbing and walking in this area including Beinn Alligin, Beinn Dearg, Liathach and Ben Damph.
Starting on the north shore of Loch Torridon the communities in this area are, Diabeg, Alligin, Inveralligin, Torridon, and on the south shore are Annat, Shieldaig, Ardheslarg, Kenmore, and Fernmore.
